One of the most important things you need to do when considering hiring a cleaning service is finding out who you are dealing with. Why? Because you are giving these people access to your home .. they are allowed free access while cleaning in your home! Often homeowners just let the cleaning people in and go off to do other errands .. are these people you can trust? The answer is YES if you hire a reputable company that has been in business for many years and NO if it’s some person you don’t know and just got a flyer in the mail or somebody who just knocked on your door looking for work. Also don’t take your neighbor’s word that “Jackie” or “Molly” or “Sadie” is great because they have been using her for a few weeks ..it’s very unlikely that they did a full background check on that person and so they don’t know any more about this person than you do. Only use reputable businesses that have been around for some time because you can be sure that their employees are fully background checked, properly trained and accountable to the business. A business that has been around for 20 or 30 years is not going to jeopardize their reputation hiring a person with a criminal background. What do you know about the person your neighbor has told you about? Are you going to question that person about their background, run a criminal background check on them? I doubt it. Play it safe and only hire through a company with track record.
